SAFETY
ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAM (ESP™)
Includes Load Adaptive Control, ABS, Acceleration Slip Regulation, Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Brake Assist and Rollover Mitigation. The system takes the vehicle's payload into account as an additional stability parameter to reduce the risk of vehicle skidding in certain critical situations. *No system, no matter how sophisticated, can repeal the laws of physics or overcome careless driving actions. Performance is limited by available traction, which snow, ice and other conditions can affect. When the ESP warning lamp in the instrument cluster flashes, the driver needs to use less throttle and adapt speed and driving behaviour to prevailing road conditions. Always drive carefully, consistent with conditions. Please always wear your seat belt.
EXTERIOR MIRRORS
Exterior mirrors feature a wide-angle auxiliary mirror integrated below the upper main mirror, enhancing safety by providing drivers with better visibility while changing lanes, parking and manoeuvring.
MIRRORS WITH TURN SIGNALS
Additional turn signal lights are integrated into the exterior mirrors, helping ensure that other drivers notice the turn signals quickly and unmistakably.
AIR BAGS
Driver and front passenger air bags* provide protection for the driver and front passenger in a frontal impact. Available front seat side-mounted air bags* and front side-curtain air bags* provide protection for the driver and front passenger in a side impact. *Always use seat belts. Sprinter Cargo and Chassis Cab Vans are equipped only with front seats and should not be used to carry children 12 and under. In Sprinter Passenger Van, children 12 and under should always be in a back seat correctly using an infant or child restraint system or the seat belt properly positioned, dependent on the child's age and weight.
SEAT BELTS
Three-point seat belts and adjustable headrests at all seating positions improve comfort and increase safety for occupants. Height-adjustable seat belts with pretensioners for driver and front outboard passenger help make seat belt usage more comfortable.
FRONT AND REAR PARKSENSE™
Assists the driver when manoeuvring or parking, reducing the risk of vehicle damage. Includes an exterior rear-view mirror display for rear sensors. Display for front is on top centre dash. *Intended to provide assistance to the driver. Always exercise appropriate care while reversing.
HEATED WINDSHIELD
Available heated windshield with rain sensor that automatically activates windshield wipers and light sensor that automatically switches on the vehicle lighting in low light conditions. Adds convenience and improved visibility and safety in cold weather/inclement driving conditions. Included in Cold Climate Comfort Group I or as a stand-alone option. Requires light and rain sensor.
HID HEADLAMPS
High-Intensity Discharge (HID) Bi-Xenon headlamps with cornering function, provide more illumination compared with halogen lamps, improving visibility and enhancing safety. Load-adjusting feature automatically adjusts the headlamp angle. Telescopic nozzles extend to ensure efficient cleaning of headlamps. Available as a stand alone option or included in Accessory Group.
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING
The Tire Pressure Monitoring System uses sensors in each wheel to measure air pressure and alerts the driver when it detects potential loss of tire pressure, enhancing safety and helping reduce tire wear and fuel consumption. Standard on 2500 models; not available on 3500 models.
SECURITY ALARM
Available security alarm system monitors the vehicle interior for signs of movement and detects changes in the angle of the vehicle, detecting unauthorized intrusion into the cabin or attempts to tow the vehicle. The system is based on the standard central locking system, immobilizing the vehicle with steering lock and deactivation of engine management. Powered independently from the vehicle battery, decreasing the system's susceptibility to tampering.
SECURITY GROUP
The available Security Group (Passenger Van only) provides enhanced safety and security for occupants, and includes: Front seat side-mounted air bags*, Front side-curtain air bags*, Puncture sealant and portable air compressor, Security alarm, First aid kit, and Road hazard lamps. *Always use seat belts. Sprinter Cargo and Chassis Cab Vans are equipped only with front seats and should not be used to carry children 12 and under.
